Van's Dream
"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality."- John Lennon.
Van read this quote in a booklet of the sayings of famous musicians. It stopped him for a moment, because all he does is dream. He's a dreamer, but all his dreams are dreamt alone. No one else, to his knowledge, shares his dream. His main dream is that he is indeed a person. He is himself. It sounds so foolish- of course he is Ivan. But he doesn't see it that way.
So re-reading the quote, he mutters to himself, "If only others dreamt me as myself. A person, with human dignity. They dream I am a freak, and therefore I am. I dream, therefore I am. If only others dreamt I was a person, then I could become reality. I would be real. I would be me."
He sighs, puts down the book, and cries a little to sleep.

We Are Super Gay!
"So, you just came out? You think being gay is all about the tumblrs and grindrs, and kissing handsome men? Well it seems I will have to teach you all that is gay."
Now, listen closely
Here's a little lesson in homosexuality
I will teach of all the gay history
If you want to be a Homo-number-one
You have to learn how our Rights were Won!
We used to hide our feelings and sneak around
Or the police would throw us in the pound
But now look at what the community is today!
Even a Republican can be gay!
When you're fired up and ready to vote
Just pick the candidate who is in our boat! (it's always Bernie)
Still, listen closely- here's the deal
We still have to put up with fundamentalist zeal!
Yet, still 64 percent of America loves our rights
So just keep up the gayest fight
We are super gay, we are super gay, hey!

Factory
Down at the abandoned factory
There's no tell your story
So instead you make it come to life
Formed by spinning or carved with a knife
Everyone has a story to tell
But we are all confined to our own personal hell
At first wrapped in straightjackets by adults around
Then we freely tighten them ourselves to a quiet sound
When I first took over this factory and set up shop
At once I removed my reins and did a be-bop
I went to straight to work making my dreams come true
My creative juices came out overflowing, way past overdue
People said these factories were forms of modern slavery
But without a master, I can work with newfound bravery
I spin my blues away and carve my piece of time
Artistic millionaire without ever earning a dime

Ivan's Anxiety
Gee, maybe here I will meet friends
Maybe, perchance a female, but a male friend will do
Desperation and denial- such a depressing fact about me
As I sit at the table, I realize there is too much to mend
Within ten minutes of silence, I leave on cue
Let me find shuffle through the store so they can't see
Frozen in place between the bookcases
I can't manage to join the conversation
Surrounded by people who I thought were like me
Yet, as I listen more that doesn't seem to be the case
Chills and fear are in full circulation
What a fool I was to think I could be....
Could be....what? I hang my head and tears form
Never have I felt so much shame inside
That's a lie, I feel shame every day at some point
I don't know what is good or real since this is the norm
My dream is to just run away and hide
But I can't seem to move my joints

Hooked On A Feline!
(Meow, meow, meow, meow)
I can't stop this feline
Right next to me
Cat, you don't realize what you do to me
When you hold me in your paws so tight
You let me know everything's alright
I'm hooked on a Feline!
I'm high on your baseline
And you're in love with me!
Purrs so loud as engines
You are sweeter than all the other felines
I got an addiction to hugging cats
Because you guys know where it's at
When we are all alone
I tell you all my secrets
We even make secret fish eating bets
Yes, I'm hooked on a feline!
All the good cats know you're the best
Dancing in your velvet vest
I'm hooked one a feline,
Yes, you've caught me in your heart fishing line!

Joy To All The Cats!
Shadow was a Bombay
He was a good son of mine
I never understood any of his meows
But he taught me how to fight with a dao
And he mastered the heaviest dao
Joy to the cats
All you kitty cats
Joy to Fluffy in the Celestial sea
Joy to kitties
If I were the king of the Katz
It's tell you what I'd do
I'd gather the Cait Sith and make a kingdom
And live in harmony with you!
Joy to the cats
All you kitty cats
Joy to Fluffy in the Celestial sea
Joy to kitties
You know I love my Fluffy
He always liked his baths
So he promises to guide through the Celestial path
He was a sweet talking son of a Cat!
Joy to the cats
All you kitty cats
Joy to Fluffy in the Celestial sea
Joy to kitties!

An Elegy On The Death of Fluffy De Katz
Fluff was a kitty who couldn't walk
The painkillers just slowed down the clock
Oh!
Every night I still cry
I remember the suffering in his eye
I didn't want to extend his pain
There was nothing left to sustain
So, I had to decide between fate and life
But I still feel that kitty's grief
Oh Fluffy please forgive!
I did more than most would for you to live
But I still killed you so, I understand
I sent you to that cosmic land
The worst thing for a father is to bury a son
Every six pound, weak, disabled, furry ones
I thought when I did this once before, next time I'd be more strong
Oh how naive my thoughts- I was so wrong
Please don't hate me
I didn't want you to die
But you were suffering
So Fluffy, bye bye bye
I still love you so
Fluffy, bye bye bye

This Hatred Keeps Me Alive (And Tortures Me)
Is it just you and me alone in this fleeting world?
I can see the tears rain down your face,
Fists clenched,
Fingers curled.
Your hatred keeps you alive,
But is driving you mad.
Why did they leave you,
Here.
Isolated and scared?
Pretend mother.
Martyred dad.
You're better than I could have fared.
Nicholas,
I know that I am clawing for help.
Still remember when this feeling was first felt.
But no one came for me.
And thus I was abandoned in this troubled sea.
I dream of becoming calm and safe.
Alas, I know it won't happen.
Despite many pleas and how good behavior.
This hatred keeps me alive.
But I am always drained of joy.
I have aspired to be a "good boy".
Only to receive endless mocking,
Plus many a stinging knife.
Oh what a lovely life.
The best life, am I right?

Bernie Bling
You used to call me Bernie Sanders
Late night when you needed votes
You would call me Bernie Sanders
For aid to sow the Revolution''s oats
And since I got my Bernie Bling
I've been giving all I can bring
And when I hear my phone ring
I know I'm gonna get some democracy!
You earned a reputation for yourself now
You are greeted with many folks in your crowds
Once you were shunned and felt left out
But now we know what you are all about
But ever since you enter the race
You gained a solid progressive base
We can't stand anymore of that orange man's face
Or the woman who took your place
But I still got my Bernie Bling
And of Our Revolution, I still sing
So let the establishment play their strings
I know you'll help us get us some democracy!

My Feeble Attempt At A Love Poem
I'm gonna sit right down
And write a letter to ya
And I'm gonna show ya
I ain't messin' around this time
Yeah, you are Thirty-Three
And a decade older than me
But age is something of relativity
No one is thinking of numbers when we create positivity
So here are my words arranged in a dubious manner
Would you rather I draw my love on a banner?
It would definitely come out as crass
And I really don't want to act like a jack ass
So here is my very private message to you
Yeah, I'm into you and we are the select few
Who experience the absurd notion called love
Maybe there isn't a sky wizard above
But I love the realm you take me to
And all the little things that you do
You hound me down with the constant wrong questions
And I give the right, yet worst answers- too many to mention
Yeah, you are a nag
But never an aged hag
These are my words of love, not at all jolly
Too bad I'm not Buddy Holly

A Wanted Criminal
I'm a hardened criminal
Never too sentimental
Born of confederates and ex-cons
The very first of the nation's sons
It's in my blood to be a hellraiser
Fiery emblems on my blazer
Letting the world know of my infame
And to never forget my name
Wanted in 23 states
But it was me who determined my fate
And those of the people crushed
So don't make a fuss
I'll shoot you with no fuss and take your stuff
It's never enough
The jewelry and cash in your pockets
Or the gold teeth in your mouth sockets
Cause that's just what I do
I'll gut you like a deer and show your organs you never knew
You'll have to deal with the waste I make
And the lives at stake
Yours included, finer folk
And yours, meddlesome blokes
You're all on my chest list
So bow to my gun and fist
Even the president has to admit
To never fuck with my shit

Mister Ignatius
"Mister Ignatius,
Mister Ignatius,
Someone please summon that villain felonious"
But before he can stand before his jury of condemnation
Mister Ignatius has opted to give once again to his inner sensation
Something aberrant is dancing around in his brain
As he mimics the movements to self-entertain
The jailer screams in pain,
Hearing the futile cry for mercy, Ignatius says
"Am I horrible? Is this abnormal?
Why are your requests so informal?
You need not whine, as I break your spine
Don't you know invertebrates are a better design?"
The search party searches his cell
Adorned with blood written 'How are you doing personnel?
I'm sure you hate what I did, but my head will need at least twice the bid
If you want someone to actually do a decent job
Otherwise, you'll have to gather a decent mob
But can you quarter me before the clock strikes fifteen
I mean, did you even both to research the scene at the ravine?
Ignatius managed to get away and lives today
Other words, he escaped the axe and m

Bernie Saved Us
Feel the Bernie!
We will never forget you till the day die
Senator, Sa-sa Senator
At the airport, guards threatened me with their clubs and guns
They threatened us with death because they didn't like our religions
Then the police were led away to cells meant for people like me
We later learned we were saved by a guy named Bernie
People ignored mother earth and father sky for too long
So the spirits found a hero to address these wrongs
A call was made from Burlington
Surrounded by the radiance of the sun
Wall Street bribed our leaders with their stock and dollar bills
But Bernie came and fought the corruption on the Hill
It was that Vermont guy!
Speaking the truth straight and dry
The oil companies tortured the Natives with tactics straight from Hell
Bernie's words drove the oppressors and saved the water wells
He didn't have to help non-whites
He doesn't like the easy way- only concerns the right
We will never forget you till the day we die
Senator, Sa-Sa Senator
